アニメ
I was introduced to anime in fifth grade, 2011. Since then, I've been a semi-casual fan, watching many series over the years from time to time, but never fully spending time on anime as a whole hobby. Am trying to change that now. Am currently super into magical girls, and I really like 90s and especially 00s anime aesthetic! ^_^

SOME FAVES

These are some anime I like! :)

Heartcatch Precure: As of the time of writing, this is my favorite anime. This is season 7 in the Pretty Cure franchise, and the first I watched. It has all the best elements of magical girls, along with amazing action, beautiful art, seriously well-written characters, and a compelling story! It's truly special :))
Smile Precure: An excellent anime, and stands as a beacon of what magical girl anime should strive to accomplish. Great animation, great writing, lovable characters, kickass action, hilarious comedy, and tons of adorable little details that make this anime stand out from all the rest.
Star Twinkle Precure: This season is another excellent version of Precure!! It's a thrilling adventure that takes you to all sorts of fun worlds in outer space! It's got some really memorable characters and it's extremely visually appealing as well. There is a lot of stuff that sets this apart from other magical girl anime and makes it so fun.
Galaxy Angel: A surreal comedy that delights in being random, and also uses lots of parody. What makes this anime is the strong core cast of characters, all with very unique personalities that are endlessly fun to watch. They are not vessels for the comedy to move through, rather they are so funny that just seeing them be themselves is usually enough to make you laugh.
Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt: This one is just over the top ridiculous, and I have rewatched or started rewatching it many times. It also features one of my favorite characters, Stocking, who is a sexy gothic lolita bitch who eats sweets all the time. She is who I aspire to be. If you watch this, expect to be thoroughly entertained.
Re: Cutie Honey: A 3 episode OVA and another entry into the Cutie Honey thing. Have not seen any of the other Cutie Honey stuff yet, but this anime is fun, well-written, incredibly well-animated for the time, and just excellent all around. A different sort of magical girl than I am used to, but it was so my thing. And, of course, it's got lots of great nudity!!
Powerpuff Girls Z: It's more of a comedy than a "true" magical girl shoujo anime, and doesn't take itself seriously. (Which you wouldn't assume from a couple of the surprisingly emotional ending themes.) The animation style is very unique and SO ADORABLE. The whole thing is eye candy for me. I find it to be a really fun and de-stressing cartoon to watch.
Azumanga Daioh: This is peak high school slice of life comedy. The humor and especially the characters (except one) are where this anime shines, and those are what the anime is all about. Azumanga Daioh is very silly and stupid and that's what makes it fantastic. Saaataaa andagiiiii!
Lucky Star: A classic of the late 2000s. With many references to other anime (most of which I probably didn't pick up on), this anime defined otaku culture, and still does. It has a very soft, colorful, and pleasing art style to go along with its slice of life, laid-back comedy.
Death Note: Used to call this my favorite for a very long time. I don't anymore, but it's still one of my favorites. It's based on a simple concept, but the writing in this show is consistently smart, and you can never predict quite where the story will take you next. Death Note also has my personal favorite soundtrack of all time, filled with tracks that elevate the anime to an even higher level.
Serial Experiments Lain: Am on Neocities and am into anime, so of course I watched this. This is one of the most unique anime I've ever watched, and it makes me feel a certain type of emotion that nothing else does. I have seen it twice and still don't really understand what is going on in it, because it's a total mind-bender. I definitely see how some people are deeply affected by the anime, and it's a great piece of art.
